The War of the Worlds

Wednesday 28th March at 7:30pm

“No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's…”

…And fewer would have believed in the first years of the twenty-first century that H. G. Wells’ science fiction classic would be performed live by just four actors with intelligences lesser than average…

The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons invade the stage in this funny yet faithful new adaptation as they use musical instruments, puppetry and, um, enthusiasm to recreate deadly heat-rays, giant fighting-machines, squidgy tentacled Martians and interplanetary warfare on an epic scale. The chances of success? A million to one…

“Part alternative rock band, part thespian… wholly charming.” The Times

Friday 18th May at 7pm

Singalonga Productions invite you to “Be our Guest” at Sing-a-Long-a Beauty and the Beast. Join us as we celebrate with a screening of Disney’s brand new adaptation of the iconic fairy tale, with on-screen lyrics so everyone can join in!.

This is your chance to sing your heart out to the Disney songs of your childhood such as “Be our Guest”, “Belle”, “Gaston” and not forgetting the “Beauty and The Beast”.  Sing along with Emma Watson, Ewan McGregor and Emma Thompson in this romantic fairy tale and see if you can stop those tears at the end.

Our Singalonga host will start with a pre-show where they will warm up your voices, teach you some hand actions, show you how to use the famous Singalonga props bag during the film and when to Boo the arrogant Gaston and of course judge the fancy dress competition!

For those of you who have been abandoned somewhere on a desert Island and don’t know the story… Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast's hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.

So some along and celebrate this “tale as old as time”, dress as your favourite character and get ready to feel part of a real fairytale.
